This historic site has its foundations in the Iron Age; the castle was built by the Normans in the twelfth century, and its ownership changed hands several times, including twice by Owain Glyndŵr's forces in the fifteenth century. Now it continues to dominate the skyline overlooking the Towy Estuary.
